Optimisation

Eliminate the stress of manual route planning and achieve greater operational efficiency with Ignition’s route optimisation services.

Plan less

Route optimisation is about more than getting from A to B. With significant increases in freight volumes and shrinking delivery windows, freight scheduling has gotten a lot harder. With Ignition’s route optimisation services, you’ll reduce manual planning time and increase the efficiency of your freight scheduling. A win-win for freight managers everywhere.

Key benefits of Ignition

With our delivery route optimisation tools, you can:

  • Reduce planning time

  • Reduce distance travelled and time spent

  • Improve vehicle utilisation

  • Increase customer satisfaction with more accurate delivery promises and automatic ETA notifications

  • Reduce vehicle operating costs and labour costs

  • Improve driver retention

Routes that work

Ignition fully optimises fleet routing, maximising vehicle utilisation and minimising the distance between drops to create efficient transport plans.

Routes can be edited or even manually built by dragging and dropping orders onto vehicles. Map based selection is also available to help you visualise your journey. Ignition will automatically recalculate utilisation (cube, pallet space, weight), trip kilometres, and time as loads and trips are manually edited.

Proven cost savings

Our customers report cost savings of between 5 and 20% using Ignition’s route optimisation services (depending how efficient their freight scheduling was to start with).

Let’s break that down: If you have 40 trucks, a 5% productivity gain will allow you to cut two trucks from your fleet. The operating cost and labour savings from this reduction in trucks will have clear benefits for your business—and ensure you see a return on your Ignition software investment.

Built for the real world

Ignition is built to handle all the complexity that comes with last mile optimisation. Our scheduler takes into account all real-world constraints to build loads that drivers can actually execute, giving you the best options for delivering a consignment.

For every route, Ignition considers:

  • Customer locations

  • Pick up and delivery windows

  • Vehicle availability

  • Vehicle types & capacities, including compartments

  • Loading and unloading times, whether it be fixed time, variable time (i.e. minutes per pallet), or a combination of both

  • Access constraints, such as the size and type of vehicles that can access each site

  • Consignment units of measure, including weight, cube, pallet spaces, and more

  • Product to compartment restrictions

  • Driver rest breaks

  • Shift times

With all these factors automatically included in Ignition’s planning, your delivery route optimisation will reach new levels of efficiency, delivering tangible benefits to your business—and your customers.
